Action(s) Needed - Events are taking place in our communities and culture that demand the action of every homeschool family. Only with our combined efforts will we be able to protect our freedoms & rights. Please review each of the items listed below & contact your public officials to let them know how these laws will impact you!

  • United Nations Conference on the Rights of Children (CRC)
  • United Nations Conference Ending Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)

The American Family Association (AFA) provides a convenient service for contacting your elected officials. The Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) provides another similar capability. Both organizations also provide good, conservative, Christian sources for news & information that will keep you informed.

For clarity, the US law stipulates that any international treaty that the US Senate ratifies becomes binding. For some treaties, such as the CEDAW, such ratification places international committees as governing authorities over US citizens and institutions. For example: the CEDAW contains the provision for a governing body to review all materials taught in the ratifying countries' education curricula to ensure no perceived gender bias exists; this could force homeschool curricula providers to rewrite curricula to exclude traditional man/woman roles.

These UN treaties have been presented to the US Senate for ratification previously and failed because the members supporting ratification had insufficient strength & support for passage. However, the current make-up of Congress could enable ratification.
