Gulf Coast Home Education Conference - SETHSA maintains a very close coordination regarding the speaker selection and workshop topic coverages. Such coordination ensures that each conference provides the best possible assortment of homeschool & family topics and that all speakers have agreed to abide within the moral & ethical standards, avoid criticisms of groups or individuals, satisfy homeschool preparation/training needs, & align with Christian & family values.

SETHSA schedules this conference for the first weekend of June each year. Scheduling of speakers, especially featured & keynote, must often occur with more than a one-year advanced planning period.

SETHSA appreciates your interest in becoming one of our guest or featured speakers. Please complete & submit the following form. Once received, the SETHSA board will review your request and let you know whether or not we can accommodate your topic(s) within our schedule. If any reasons arise which prevent your selection, we will let you know as quickly as possible so that any misunderstandings can be resolved. However, please be assured, SETHSA truly desires to incorporate as many valuable speakers & workshops as possible, both seasoned friends & new acquaintenances; our biggest & most recurring issue is avoiding workshop topics with too great an overlap.

Note: Speakers who have not presented at one of our previous conferences or who are introducing a new workshop may be asked to provide a recording of their actual presentation to enable the board to make a more informed decision. If asked, it will not be used for any other purpose nor for redistribution.

NOTE: SETHSA operates according to Christian principles and enforces minimum standard of decorum on all who attend the conference; this ensures none of the families, especially children, attending are exposed to immodest or offensive materials or language. Among the expectations are: care/treatment of the host facilities, respect for property & rights of others in the hall, supervision & oversight for all minors accompanying the speaker, honor/support conference schedule & rules, and maintain family-friendly behavior & decor.

Also, for those speakers who are also product vendors, we require that workshop(s) focus on general materials and wider-scope lessons rather than product-specific topics & features; for example, mathematics workshops should not focus on particular manipulatives and literature workshops should not focus on specific author/series. While speakers obviously have significant visibility to those attending these workshops, the purpose should remain on education & information sharing rather than product sales. Thus, other comments should be limited to times outside the workshop schedule & classroom. Alternatively, during exhibitor registration, the option for a product-specific workshop is offered.
